Power Chords: open-source capabilities for product people who ship. A builder in a green sweater raises a rock-on salute at a sunset-lit workspace.
Same signal. More power. You, but amplified.

THE PRODUCT BUILDER’S TOOLKIT

You don’t need to switch your entire workflow. Use a focused capability in your agent, or compose a document in the Workroom.

PORTABLE CAPABILITIES

Bring a capability to your agent.

Install a portable instruction pack into a project. Give your agent the objective, authorized evidence, and output you need. Your agent provides the tools and execution environment.

  • Focused instructions, inputs, and output contracts
  • Project setup for supported coding agents
  • Markdown downloads for manual use elsewhere

CONNECTED WORKROOM

Work it through in the Workroom.

Choose an outcome, paste your context, and generate a structured Markdown draft. The native engine uses deterministic templates and works without a model API key.

  • Evidence ledger and explicit review gates
  • Local or hosted document generation
  • Downloadable drafts you can edit and share

MAKE PROGRESS CONCRETE

From messy notes
to your next move.

Native workflows structure the evidence you supply. They prepare a draft for your judgment, rather than making decisions on your behalf.

YOUR AGENT. YOUR RULES.

Take it where you work.

The same capability instructions travel across platforms. Choose your setup to get the right installation commandβ€”or download Markdown for a host that accepts instructions manually.

1. Choose your platform

Claude Code: install project instructions into .claude/skills/. Confirm discovery in your agent.

GET CONNECTED
git clone https://github.com/saurabhmisal/power-chords.git
cd power-chords
node scripts/capabilities-cli.mjs install prd-and-specification-writing --agent claude --project ../my-project

Requires Node.js 24.x. Replace ../my-project with your project folder. Run these commands in your terminal.

3. GIVE YOUR AGENT A CLEAR BRIEF

Less vague prompting.
More deliberate work.

Use the Power Chords PRD and specification writing capability. Work from the authorized context I provide. Produce the documented output, distinguish evidence from assumptions, and flag missing inputs. Ask before taking external actions.

Claude Code setup is distinct from the Claude web app. For chat-based tools, download a capability and attach or paste it only where your platform supports that workflow. Files do not grant tool access or make unsupported integrations available.

A WORKSPACE WITH CLEAR BOUNDARIES

Your context.
Your choice of runtime.

LOCAL WORKROOM

Keep native drafting on your machine.

Persistent SQLite history, Markdown documents, source inspection, and reviewed instruction imports. No model provider is required for native drafting.

git clone https://github.com/saurabhmisal/power-chords.git
cd power-chords
npm start
# Open http://127.0.0.1:4327

Node.js 24.x Β· Local files are not encrypted by the app.

HOSTED WORKROOM

Host your own Workroom.

Deploy the repository to run native document generation online. This page provides the capability library and downloads; the deployment guide walks you through setting up a Workroom.

Read the deployment guide β†—

No cross-device history or team account system. The source installer remains a local feature.

CONNECTED, NOT COUPLED

A shared way
to do good work.

Capabilities define inputs, steps, outputs, and review criteria. Workflows combine them. The runtime or host agent supplies execution, storage, and permission checks.

Read the architecture β†’
  1. 01 / CONTEXTAuthorized evidence + a clear objective
  2. 02 / COMPOSITIONCapability instructions + workflow contracts
  3. 03 / EXECUTIONNative Workroom or your authorized agent
  4. 04 / OUTPUTA reviewable artifact + explicit unknowns

A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING

Before you turn it up.

Does this work with Claude, Codex, or any other platform?

The instruction packs are Markdown. The installer supports project skill folders for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI. Other hosts can use a custom skill directory or manually supplied instructions where supported. Execution depends on the host’s tools, context limits, and permissions; there is no universal automatic integration with every platform.

Do I need an API key or a paid model?

Native Workroom drafting uses deterministic templates and needs neither. An external agent or adapter may have its own subscription, credential, and runtime requirements. GitHub source inspection may encounter API rate limits.

Does a capability run an entire external application?

No. A capability pack provides instructions and metadata. Native assistance is scoped to implemented drafting workflows. Specialized operations such as OCR, audio generation, live research, or deployment require appropriate tools or reviewed adapters.

Where does my information go?

Local native generation runs on your machine. Hosted native generation sends input to the deployment server and saves recent documents in your browser. When using a third-party agent, its data-handling policies also apply. Download important documents; browser history does not sync across devices.

Is Power Chords open source?

First-party code and instruction packs use the MIT license. External projects retain their own authorship and licenses. Read the third-party notices before importing or redistributing external material.
